Bedrooms: A ground-floor double with private en-suite bathroom. Two bunk bed rooms on the first floor — perfect for children, comfortable for adults. A secret kids' TV room with a sofa bed that extends into a double. On the attic level, a single bedroom and a double bedroom (with sink), plus an extra double bed in the shared space between them.

Bathrooms: Two full bathrooms plus a separate toilet on the first floor.

Kitchen & living: Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, coffee machine, oven and microwave. Central heating, beautiful wood-burning stove (wood from the local supermarket), washing machine, WiFi, TV and stereo. Outdoor furniture and dining table on both the north and south terraces.

For families: Two bikes, ping-pong table, surfboard, kite board, sjoelen, jeu de boules, dartboards, board games, kite. Baby cot and high chair available. Pets welcome.

Check-in is from 14:00 using the lockbox code next to the front door — we'll send you the code by email before you arrive. Check-out is by 10:00.

There are three bins in the public car park in front of the house: glass, paper and general waste. The tag for the general waste bin hangs in the kitchen. Please take out the rubbish before you leave, clear the fridge, and empty the dishwasher. Strip the beds and leave the linen in the bag it came in — leave the bag in the hallway, it will be collected. No deep cleaning needed; that's taken care of.

Wood for the stove is not supplied — pick some up at the Plus supermarket in Midsland (15-minute bike ride) or bring your own.

Getting around

Getting to Terschelling

Terschelling is a Wadden Sea island, reached by ferry from Harlingen. Ferries are operated by Rederij Doeksen — book in advance, especially in summer and school holidays.

  • Slow ferry (car ferry): approx. 2 hours — comfortable, can take your car
  • Fast ferry (passenger only): approx. 50 minutes — no cars, foot passengers only

Parking in Harlingen: there is a large car park near the ferry terminal. If you travel by fast ferry, you can leave your car there for the duration of your stay.

From the ferry to the house

The house is in Midsland aan Zee, about a 25-minute ride from the harbour in West-Terschelling.

  • Bus 2 departs from right in front of the ferry terminal and stops directly in front of the driveway. It runs regularly throughout the day.
  • Bike rental is available at the harbour — cycling through the dunes is a beautiful way to arrive.
  • Luggage delivery is available from the harbour to the house, so you can travel light on the bus or bike.
  • Taxi services are also available from the harbour.

The address is Badweg 17, Midsland aan Zee. There is parking space at the house for one car.

Neighborhood

The beach is a 5-minute walk from the house — you can see the beach path from the back terrace. It's a wide, sandy North Sea beach, ideal for families, swimming in summer, and water sports.

Food & drink: A family-friendly beach restaurant is right at the entrance (5-min walk, open all year — great for lunch, kids love the pancakes). Zanzibar beach bar is 15 minutes along the beach to the right — relaxed, surfy, summer only. An excellent restaurant in West aan Zee is about 35 minutes along the beach, with great food all year and a fireplace in winter.

Before heading home, stop at De Walvis in West Terschelling for a drink overlooking the Groene Strand — one of the most beautiful spots on the island.

Shopping: Plus supermarket in Midsland, 15-minute bike ride. Small local shops in Midsland Noord for basics.
